I've gone bleary-eyed looking back through the threads to find a recent thread about one of the RTH'ers finding some milky centered thunder eggs. I replied and mentioned that I had tossed some slabs from ones I dug up at Richardson Ranch last summer in the tumbler. They, too, are milky and show some amazing colors throughout. I've tried to get some pictures but they're a little out of focus. Check out the oranges in the outer areas! Susan

Susan, Thanks for posting the Thudereggs. I really like unknown suprises; such as Geodes, Thundereggs..and almost every rock for that matter. I'm going to try to go outside today and slice a few more rocks. It's cold and no sunshine...but I'm gonna brave the winter! Steve

Those look to me like they came from the "opal ledge" at Richardson's. Did you dig them or from one of the piles; and how big are they? I dug opal ledge once because the road up is major hairy-scary. I think they might have even closed that area.

I dug them and I can't remember which area. I was trying to find their newest acquisition which used to be part of Priday ranch, but ended up digging in what I think they called their "green bed." The opal ridge was open but I was with my kids, it was about as hot as is possible, and it was our first time there. I only had my rock pick and no other supplies. This summer I will take a big hammer, crow bar, and a whole lot more water!!! Susan 2
