I stop off at the local pet shop as Randy does and every once in a while they have some pretty darn nice rocks in there. This is a nice piece of petrified wood with quartz crystals on it that I found at the pet shop. A close-up of the quartz crystals,,,, This next piece is petrified palm wood and it was given to me from some real great folks from Walla Walla Washington! I keep both of these pieces as specimens. connrock

beffjello, Ya know,,,,,,I never noticed if there were any feathered or fur bearin critters in the pet shop but I'll look next time I go collecting! LOL Come to think of it I did see a goldfish there once!
stoner, Don't laugh!! If it wasn't for the pet stores I wouldn't have anywhere to look for rocks up here!!You folks are just spoiled rotten findin all them perty rocks all the time!! LOL You should all do a 1 month stretch up here and then see who's laughin!! LOL
texaswoodie, I actually picked up 4 pieces just like this one at the pet store!!I asked the kid how much it was and he said it's a buck a pound so I bought it all!! It was 42 and change out the door!!
Cher, If you can't find a pet shop the next best place to look is Texas or Utah or Arizona or,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL
Jack, Thanks! It's amazes me what people will put in a fish tank!!

That druzy wood is something alse and looks cool just the way it is. Cool you found them at a pet shop, but what pet needs chunks of pet wood? I thing the owner secretly wants the pet shop to be part rock shop. Steve
