Haven't had my tumbler going in a while. Took some time to save up extra cut off pieces to fill both jars. After yesterdays slab sesson, I finally have enough to start'em up!! Yeaaaaa!!!! This is my poor lonesome double 3lb tumbler. Someday she will have a sibling. Here is one jar full. Just a big mixture. I know the mos scale is supposed to be used in tumbling, but what the hey. I just throw it all together and see what happens. Here is jar #2. Same thing, just a big mixture. I just love to experiment. Just a quick closeup of some friends of mine ;D. Ok Started at 1:30pm Dec 30th. Let's see what happens. T

Wowza, that's going to be a fun barrel to open at each stage!! Yummy rock you have there! I'm the same way; I just throw everything in there, and have fun and get to see what comes out. Can you share each stage with us?

Thanks everyone. I hope these come out good. It's a lot of jaspers & agates so it should play nice together. I'll keep ya posted on how it's working out. Thanks again.

Tami they are dual 3lb barrels. I can hear the grit almost gone. Need to check them tommorrow. I'm outta 60/90. Might be a while before I can finish the rough grind stage if they need longer, no money for more grit. Boohoo.

Well, I just finished checking my barrels. I was surprised to find a lot of the pieces got small quickly. Needless to say I moved them on. The OJ looks sweet, it should come along great. If you look in the second pic you can see a small piece of Lapis. That one looks great now. I was almost afraid it would be gone because of the progress of the rest. But nope, it's lookin good. Next pics will be next weekend. Didn't have time today. Also, I didn't have a full barrel of stage 2 mix so I added some I had put away, so the next pics will have some others mixed in. Thanks for watching. T

Looks like a great line up for some killer tumbles Tonja! I really need to dust off my Thumlers and get back into action. They kinda sorta got neglected when the cabber got delivered

Well, here are the second set of pictures. I will apologize now to dial up folks cause there are a bunch of pics. I kinda got carried away. *L* I had checked these tumbles 2 weeks ago and some were ready to go on to the next stage. I didn't have enough for stage 2, so I added some I already had to that point. I think I'm going to put all of them back through stage two. The first pic is a batch that has been in stage one for 3 weeks total but with a mixture of old slurry and all the 60/90 I had left. Some of these I'm not going to put back in the tumble, instead I'm going to use the flat lap to finish them. I'll tell you which ones as I go. So here we go..... 3 weeks stage 1 1 week stage one and 2 weeks stage 2 Left stage 1, right stage 2; shown wet Same as above; shown dry 1 Flame Jasper front & back Small Lapis; Lap Don't know; lap I really like this one. Looks like gold plums on white. Emerald; Lap More Emeralds A pretty wavy green Don't know Opalized woods 2 Mohgany Obsidians; finishing these on lap Butter Jade Crazy Lace; Lap Don't Know; Lap Thunderegg; Lap Black Plum Agate; Lap O J ; Lap Don't know 2 Ga Lace agate, lap, thought this stuff was matrix & rust stains, but it has orange plummy stuff. A couple Bots from Snowdog, lap to finish Another Ga Lace; Lap Graveyard Plum; Lap Another Ga Lace; Lap A few closeups of the batches. These have impressed me because they were basically just end cuts and scraps. I really didn't think they would become much. As you can see, these are keepers! Most of the ones I'm going to finish on the lap are possible wrappers. I like the shapes, but some need to be fine tuned, lol. Thanks for looking and watching my progress. These tumbles will be rolling again tomorrow. We had bad storms and tornado warnings tonight so I didn't get them restarted. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the second stage batch also had plastic pellets tumbling with them. These probably won't need to much longer in stage 2, so hopefully I can move them along in about 1 week. Thanks again, T

Thanks Adrian & Jack. I just got them rolling again in 120/220 for a couple more weeks. After I took out the ones I want to finish on the lap, I had room to add some black jelly bean looking stones that I had tumbled last year and needed to go back in the 2nd stage. Now the barrels are full again. I wish I could remember the name of the ones I added, but oh well. Someone will know when there done. LOL Thanks again, T
