The cost of good grinding wheels for a Diamond Pacific Genie and its grinding wheels can be quite restrictive. I saved myself some cash by making my own Cabber in the same style as the genie. I wonder if any1 has any knowledge of whether the nova or nova type wheels can be recharged to give a new lease of life? Here's a couple of pics I found from way back, its not pretty but it works. best regards Andrew

Hi John thanks for the comment. The only wood is on the base, I have altered the design since the photo made a larger resovoir and installed some sheilded switching for safety. The rest is made from a plastic material found in use for doors edges of roof soffits and window sills.

Very impressive. I can not afford a Diamond Pacific or anything like it. The one wheel on the left shaft closest to the inside does look a little close to the one separator board, but even so......, I am jealous I am presently limited to only two diamond wheels on my Highland Park unit. Sure would like to have a selection of abrasives like your unit.

There was a guy that didn't refinish the Nova wheels, but would basically create wheels of his own using epoxy and diamond powder. Let me see if I can dig up the old threads that pointed to that machine...

Thanks guys, yes Taogem the board on the left id closer than the right. I have since altered my spacers and also have 6 wheels installed.
Akansan I've bookmarked the link (excellent memory) I'm still searching for some home restoration info.
regards Andy

Andy, I'm not sure how cost effective it would be to have Nova wheels redone with shipping. I recently received a trial order from a Chinese diamond tool company. One item I ordered was a "Nova" wheel I needed for my Genie. I laughed when I saw it. It is a resin diamond belt glued to a foam lined wheel. Now that I've recovered from my "what did you expect for that price? condition I'm thinking about that old Nova of mine and those diamond belts on the table...
