Hi everybody. Today I polished a wood. It comes from down under and half of it will make its way back. Mike had a great idea: to send me some pet woods picked by himself from Chinchilla, in order for me to cut and polish them and send him back a half of each one. "Works for me", I told him and the deal was done. Here's the first one, a beautifully colored pet wood: Look at these colors, aren't they sweet? I've polished the cut and a part of the thickness of the rocks. the other faces are rough. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Ooooooooo Adrian, that is just gorgeous! It does look like tiger stripes too. What an awesome find Mike, is that common in that area? Beautiful job on the polishing Adrian, stunning shine.

Almost a shame KD, but not quite! Great job Adrian. I'm really looking forward to seeing the others. Here's the "before" photo to go with Adrian's "after" photos. As you can see, the colours look even better in natural light. Cher, this is the only pice I have found with this kind of patterning. I was a bit scared to send it over the other side of the world. But, it has made 1 trip safely so far so it only has to do it once more. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Adrian, as far as which one to send to me...you've done all the hard work mate, so it's your call. I know I will not be disappointed! Mike

nice looking pair, almost a shame to break the set. well done, Adrian, wtg, Mike! KD I don't consider the set will break apart, KD. By the contrary, it will bring closer Romania and Australia Mike, you're a real gentleman letting the choice on me. I promise you won't be disappointed. Adrian PS. The pic posted by Mike is exactly the back of the piece in the right side

Here's a couple of pics with close-ups, showing that not only the colors are great on this pet wood but also the wooden structure! Thanks again for looking, Adrian

Way cool. And how nice, to think you each have a piece! Jeez, how many miles/kilometers between the two of you? (I know, you guys think in kilometers, but if you figure it out, also post in miles for some of the rest of us???) What fun! And amazing wood, amazing polishing!

Karen, I measured the distance on Google earth and it's about 14,400 km, meaning 8,950 miles. So, one of those pieces will fly almost 30,000 km. Amazing, indeed!
Thank you for the ID, Mel.
