I finished cutting the Morrisonite tonight, and just couldn't wait until the bucket was full to clean it out. I really like this stuff, such cool patterns and colors. This one is with flash This one is without flash A little closer And a little closer again and the last few slabs from that llittle bit of greenstone jasper I showed a few slabs from yesterday. Sorry for so many pics, but I had to show it off...................Tony

Tony, No need to be sorry about that! That is really neat material. Where exactly do they mine for morrisonite?? Isn't it found on the Oregon/Idaho border??? Feel free to boast ;^) more about your stuff...it's amazing! It will make some exceptional cabs. Steve

Beautiful morissonite! But not as beautiful like the one you've sent me in the Christmass gifts action ;D
You cut some first class rock there!

Steve, Morrisonite comes from a claim on the Oregon side of the Idaho/Oregon border. The claim is still owned by someone, but the area is now "proposed wilderness", so anything they take out of there has to be hauled by backpack or mule for quite a distance, and it is of course all uphill on a very steep trail. I have not been there, just what other people have told me. They are also trying to close down access to the Bruneau jasper mines, which is the same range, just upstream a ways. I have been to that mine, and the trek out with a backpack would be grueling. Be interesting to see where that goes.
Ronda, I will be setting up some cabbing equipment sometime in the future, but until then, I just have to use the slabs to pave my driveway with.
No.............. I am just kidding, sometimes I sell them on ebay, sometimes I send them to people who can do something with them, depends on how much time I have to list stuff. Lately I have not sold much, but I do have a few boxes of slabs starting to stack up.
