Ralph & Maryann- Top one...go do a search for Angelite especially on e-bay cause they have some listed right now. Could be a match. #2- could be a section of indian paint stone or just a sandstone with dendrite lines. #3-spiderweb jasper. Could be Oregon as I've seen some like it. (in fact I have a couple of little hunks but the color is more pastel green) #4- could be same as above or just a type of rhyolite. #5-type of granite? 6 & 7- Sorry...got no clue ! These are all guesses on my part and I'm sure someone will correct any mistakes!

The patterns in number 3 look very similar to a piece of petrified wood that Deb-Daniel got when he bought a box of Pet wood from me. Mel said it was a unique type of fern tree or something like that. Maybe he will chime in. Number 6 looks just like a piece of Leopardskin jasper that I bought in Utah, the piece I had only had the orbs in 1 tiny area, I will find one of the slab from that rock and post a picture so you can compare them. #5 I agree with Liz, granite, and because of the little orbs in #4 I'm guessing orbicular rhyolite. Number 7 might be variscite? SP? Guess, Guess, Guess! Not much help when you are looking for positive ID's.

OK, my guesses 1. Yup looks like angelite ( blue anhydrite) 2.Indian Paint Rock also called death Valley Paint Rock from near Saratoga Springs 3+4 Orbicular Rhyolite with the first being more of the Bird's Eye form 5. Looks like granite with biotite mica 6. Indian Blanket Jasper from Utah 7.Just a guess but looks a bit like some of the Moody Green jasper I've seen from Arizona....mel

I dont know about the other ones but the black and white spotted slab kinda looks like paisanite from Alpine-Marfa Area. I would post a pic of my whole rock but camera is on the fritz! AgateHeaven

I'm not so sure about #2 being Indian Paint Stone. How hard is it?
Number 5 is definately speckled granite. I have a chunk in my yard that's about 15-20 pounds. Would people buy that to use it for lapidary? If so, I'll cut it up!
