Dang those are awesome! I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried. They must make an incredible site sitting in your home. The wooden turned base is also pretty nice. Did you make that?

Nice collection, just when I thought I had a favorite picked, you put up another one that was a favorite. The wooden stands are cool, too.
Thanks for sharing them.........................Tony

I made the stands also. I have over (20) spheres this size and each has a similar stand in different exotic hardwoods...I build furniture also. rockyraccon has posted some of my other spheres

Hmmmmm, looks like he deleted them, re-named them, or moved them in the Photobucket account because I copied the URL and couldn't bring them up.

Beautiful work. And yes, I agree with the rest, the base is beautifull too. I like the septarian, it's like a map (maybe Earth in another age? - it looks like the splitted Africa in the center)

I am just a sphere collector. I have a guy who makes some of the spheres for me. I also have a few places I found on the Internet that I buy finished spheres and /or rough rock from. One is in China. I got started collecting spheres when a person had me make some bases for his spheres. I have made a few different styles of bases. I like this style the best for my size spheres. And yes I sell the bases. Each would be made to order from your choice wood and style.

Great looking spheres, I sometimes wish I had the equipment large enough to make larger pieces. Tony Funk sent us a smaller machine for marble making and we are just getting ready to set it up. The machine Tony sent us is a commercial model.
When a commercial comes on the T.V. you get up and brush on another helping of oil and grit !!!

DAAAAAAANG!!! They were jaw dropping!!!
Any chance of you putting some rock names with the spheres? I'd love to know what they all are.
They remind me of planets from the star wars movies.
