Thumler's 12lb tumbler

Sorry to bother ya'll with this, but they don't cover what I need to know in the instruction manual

How tight do you tighten the hose clamp to seal the lid on a Thumler's 12#er?

Looks to me like I could unnecessarily over tighten it quite easily.

Should the rubber lip fold in over the lid? How much hose clamp do you have go thru the worm screw?

I tighten it just to the point where it gets tight then about another half turn. Too much and the barrel folds. Haven't had a problem yet after many years.

Another case of less is more..tighten just enough so the barrel does not leak. Once you feel it snugging up , you're done...If it leaks, do some more.

If it leaks it my stop leaking as the material around the rim dries up anyway.

No need to use any strenuos force.
