Sorry to bother ya'll with this, but they don't cover what I need to know in the instruction manual How tight do you tighten the hose clamp to seal the lid on a Thumler's 12#er? Looks to me like I could unnecessarily over tighten it quite easily. Should the rubber lip fold in over the lid? How much hose clamp do you have go thru the worm screw? Thanks for any replies from those that have Been There, Done That Bob

I tighten it just to the point where it gets tight then about another half turn. Too much and the barrel folds. Haven't had a problem yet after many years.

Another case of less is more..tighten just enough so the barrel does not leak. Once you feel it snugging up , you're done...If it leaks, do some more.
If it leaks it my stop leaking as the material around the rim dries up anyway.
No need to use any strenuos force.
