Howdy folks, Only about 1/2 way through washing yesterdays finds. Finding the lack of sun yesterday didn't hinder the hunt at all. Actually found much better stuff than we thought at the time. Here are a few pics just as a teaser. I'll post lots more as stuff gets washed off. Thanks for looking....Mel My favorite hunk from the day. reminds me of Mexican Pata de Gallo with all the swirls of color. Big hunk too! One of my wifes finds. She mostly scratched around the hillsides while I went out an walked and she did as well as I without going more than 50 yards from the car. Nice red breccia: Various small jasper and agate hunks: Nice moss. I'll have to photograph some of these up closer. Some vein type moss that reminds me of Maury Mtn stuff. Weird moss. Looks like per wood on the outside. Inside nice golden swirly moss with crystal vugs. Inside: Large moss nodule my wife dug up. Nice loose filament and flame type plumes: Some more breccia with lots of agate stringers: My wife likes green so she picked up lots of this green, red and yellow vein stuff. Looks just like Indian Fancy Jasper and some has nice scenes too.

Ooh, that first one looks spectacular! I really like the red/green stuff your wife picked up, too.

Nice finds Mel and Wife! all these posts on rock hunting is really starting to make me sick! The weather is hinting towards Spring here...but now I get to go to Montana again for about 2 weeks. I can't wait until April though. Like your material Mel...and looking forward to seeing some close-ups and cuts. Steve

Titania: *S* I think I may actually be getting my wife a little interested in rock collecting. It is odd though, how if you turn two different people loose on the same spot, they come up with such a different variety of material. My wife seems to come up with the best red and green materials, lots of the moss and all the fortification agate and she just pokes around by the truck. I wander all over and find much material that is totally different from what she gets because apparently I focus on a different color spectrum. I find myself wishing we had kids cause they're close to the ground, sharper eyed, and would probably find still a different array of gems. Need me a whole herd of trained kids! *L*....Mel

Mel, fly me over and I'll help you out. At 31 y/o I'm no kid, but if you want you can still fly me over... . I love photos of the rough, straight out of the field rocks that people find. You, and your lovely wife, have found some beauties. I really like the one in the first photo and the tiger stripe patterned one on the second last photo. Thanks for sharing them. Mike
