Hi, everyone! In the beginning of this week I had to leave Bucharest for a few days and, as always, I also went for a short rockhounding. I picked my cousin from his town and went further, both of us keen to reach the rockhounding place. And we did! But, although the ice and snow were missing in the flat areas, there were in that valley, just enough to ruin our searching. Well, when I mentioned the ruining, that was not valid for my cousin (also Adrian) who found a really beautiful piece: My best find in that area is this striped jasper: When I came back home, I also stopped on another river and found two pet woods: Not a very rich haul, but still good, given the winter conditions. And, most important, we had a couple of days with relaxation and fresh air. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Great start to the rock hounding for 2008, mate. I never really considered what impact snow would have on hunting for rocks. Not an issue here.
Those are some nice pet woods and gnarly chunk of agate your cousin found is cool too.

Despite your opinion that it wasn't a good trip it looks good to me. That piece your cousin found is really nice, the others are half bad either.

Thank you folks! Yes, it was cold, but not very. About freezing (0 deg. Celsius). And given the weather, yes, I agree it was a very good trip.

Where there's a will there's a way, why let a little snow get in your way?? Great trip and thanks for sharing it for us Adrian. Great finds too, what type of stone did your cousin find? looks like a real cool rock.

You must have rock radar to find those in the snow. Nice finds and beautiful scenery. I like to show your trip posts to my coworker who is from Bucharest. He enjoys seeing them a lot. Steve

Steve, if I remember correct your coworker is Mircea? I think you told me before about him. Is he attracted by rocks too? Please let me know if he'd like to have more pics from here.

Considering it's winter, at least you found something. That one your cousin found is really nice and the yellow jasper is really pretty.
