Gosh cutter, that is a shame!! If you need to dispose of any of those I could help you out. Good thing I don't have that saw, it would be alot dirtier than that! For my big saw I use technical grade mineral oil from my local United Oil warehouse. 4.85 a gallon, my big saw uses 30 gallons so I had to find a cheaper alternative. I like it so much I now use it in all my saws. It is clear, odorless, and is easy to reclaim.
Nice setup you got there.................Tony

Catmandewe Is there a name and number for that oil. If we had a United Oil # we could cross reference it with another brand. I am having trouble getting my oil company to find what I need........MrP

Looking up Tecumseh, KS on my map. Kansas is close, I am excited.
And I got the Tecumseh KS thing from cutter's little side profile.
OK, is this a joke or something? Or is there more to the story? Because there is no Tecumseh, nor anything even close to that name, in Kansas. What's up?

Hey, cutter, looks like you need some shelves and storage solutions in that shop of yours. Let's have an old-fashioned rock-shed/workshop raising! We'll come and help, you can pay us in rocks!
Wishful thinking on my part.
Whoa, John, where on earth did you get 615 lbs of rock that are too big for your saw??? And how did you get it into your truck without hurting yourself??!!
<smile>

Howdy all. I am a little worried. It's 9:30 Sunday morn and John hasn't shown up yet. Do you think he is pushing that truck of his? Amy, If I pay you with rocks, I won't need the shelves. Cursed again. Brad

LOL - If John doesn't show up soon, I'll just take his place instead. 'Tis but a short hop for me. Amy, having moved recently I can answer that question for John - 1 flat rate box at a time. ;D

Hi Brad, Thanks for the pictures, we love that kinda stuff here! THAT'S one big honkin' saw! I was wondering how the auto feed works? Is that a 27" vibrating lap? I want one of those someday *sigh* here's where I got my tech grade 70 mineral oil www.steoil.com/catalog.asp?productgroup=70tGot a 55 gal barrel for $392 plus shipping. Shipping to Florida was just over $100... probably be A LOT cheaper to Kansas. That would fill your saw and give you extra for later.

Capt'n That is indeed a 27" lap. The saw has a full legnth screw feed That locks onto a split nut on the traveler. It will travel from 5/32 " to 5/8"-/Min. The jaws of the vise will open to about 19". I have my eye on a drum of transformer oil that is guarenteed to be PCB free. I am trying to get the guy to take $3.00/gal. And it is only about 25 miles away from home.

would those big saws be easier on oil if you stowed a few big rocks in the bottom to raise the oil level - are you allowed to cheat like that?
I like rocks too!
