I picked these up on a fossil field trip south of STL. I know nothing about fossils, but it was fun. I'll try to identify them as they were explained to me. This one is sea bottom with a bunch of coral in it: Cephalopods: Lots of shells: Where we were looking, there were HUGE slabs with the tops just crusted with shells. How cool, I thought, if there were some way to get this stuff out of here and use it as part of a wall or something! And I don't even remember where I picked this up, but I believe it was in one of our local parks on a recent dog walk.

Nice Pup! I really like that first plate. Are those tubey things crinoids?

Sandy! Long time no see. Beef, the fossil folks liked that first piece a lot. They say the tubey stuff all over the surface is coral. It was fun finding all this stuff -- though for the most part I'm clueless about it.
