Back from the KC Rock show, and it was a terrific show. A bunch of great displays, a bunch of actual slabs and rough, some neat finished products that weren't made in China, some giant logs...just a really great rock show. Something really for everyone - jewelry addicts, rockaholics, beaders, display pieces, minerals.
My budget for the rock show underwent a significant reduction when my computer decided it needed a few new parts immediately, but I'm happy with what I brought home. Here's what my modified budget brought home. Any IDs on some of these slabs would be wonderful:
I have a tentative ID on the lower right corner as palm wood. I don't really trust the seller's knowledge though...
Left side - Idontknowites. Two mosses, one lace, one pic jasper of some kind (guessing succor creek), mugglestone, dino bone, and a tentative ID as bloodstone. This is where my lack of confidence in the seller comes in, as he told me that slab was bloodstone with more jasper than usual.
Closer pic of the "bloodstone":
Closer pic of the dino bone:
Cuttables - montanas, picture jaspers, whale bone & Florida rib bone (of some kind):
Opalized wood? - this is another tentative ID. I loved the orbing on it, and the seller took a guess (same seller as my other tentative IDs) at opalized wood. I don't personally think it feels or looks like opalized wood...
And finally, my small splurge:
But I can't for the life of me remember which of the gem jaspers it is...Willow Creek is my best guess...
Some of these pictures are horrible. Unfortunately, I'm limited until my new motherboard arrives and I can switch out video cards. I figure if they look horrible to me, they probably look terrible to you!
