I'm a long time member, but I rarely post. I'm seeing more folks on the board from Oregon so I thought I'd go ahead and let them know that I'm here too. I live in Eugene and work in Corvallis.
Actually I'm currently traveling in Seattle. It's snowing - looks like about a half of an inch so far. Yesterday my daughter and I went to Whidbey Island - saw a whale from the ferry. We filled 2 five gallon buckets with beach rocks - mostly sugar agates - it was a great day - sunny. We also saw a lot of deer and explored an old military fort.
This weekend there is a rock show at Sweethome Oregon. Wish I could be there. I'll be there in spirit - one of my jasper spheres and some of my tumbled Montana agate slabs will be on display.
Currently my major passion is making spheres - just getting started - 8 finished, 3 awaiting final polish. I cut preforms during the school year and grind them into spheres during the summer break. I also tumble - currently I have a home made 4 barrel (Lortone 12 pounders) tumbler, a QT12, a QT66, a QT45 and a QT33. I've yet to get a good polish from the QT33, but I do ok with the others. I also like to play with a vibrating flat lap - again only a summer thing - these things take a lot of babysitting.

Hi Steve,
Welcome to another friend from my favorite part of the country. I'll never move there (Pacific Northwest), but I sure do love it out there. Got to see a whale huh? I love all that kind of stuff. Lucky you and those that live along the Yellowstone area.
