Some sort of conglomerate jasper. Don't know if it has a name.

Depending on its hardness, It looks like it could be a piece of Bauxite. If it were, it would be rather soft.

i was also thinking birdseye but i think with birdseye the circles are more of a circle shape. those are obong so i'm not sure. i love the light fixture, nice idea.

There is a material I recently saw while visiting Richardson's - it was called King Cobra jasper I think; looked sort of similar yet different.
