Got a couple pics of some of the stuff I found in Montana on and near the Bighorn River. This is what I call Bighorn Jasper since I found it where they had blasted out for the Yellowtail dam. It's blast fractured so the slabs fall apart put makes nice cabs. The Dryhead agate I bought from rockman69 on eBay. I'm using it for comparison showing the host rock around the agate is very similar to the jasper I found. This second photo is of a river rock I found in the Bighorn river. What a surprise at the colors: The Dryhead agate claim is in the Bighorn recreation district. I've located in on google earth. I need to figure out how to get to it. I'll probably have to come from the Wyoming side. I'm not planning on claim jumping but will use my GPS to be sure where I'm at and do some prospecting. Maybe I'll find something worth filing a claim over. Rick

Cool! I really like the colours and the look of that jasper! I wish I could find such cool rocks in rivers near me.

Nice colors. I cut into some river rocks a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised at the coloring inside them. Now I am starting to look at them a little differently.

If the Dryhead mine is within the boundries of the Big Horn National Rec Area , you had better check the rules for the area. I don't think you are allowed to remove any items even rocks. I live in Billings and have talked to people who know the area. They tell me the mine is on private property. The Crow Indian Reservation is also close by. It is my understanding the above mentioned frown on trespassing. Others have tried and failed. If you try I wish you Good Luck
