I love this forum, I've been a looker and a learner for about 3 years. I live in the Nebraska Panhandle, do some Fairburn hunting. and lots of tumbling and cutting. My first tumbler was homebuilt. It used a full horse motor, 2 mis matched rollers, doubled up 5 gal paint buckets and about a roll of duct tape to hold it all together. I had lots of fun, but ruined most all the rocks i tortured in it. But, i learned about rock sizes, barrel rpm's slurry consistency, and Patience!

Nice to meet you all. Yes Tony that big tumbler was noisy, I had it set outside cause it was so big. My neighbor Mrs Finley had a little "chat" with me about the noise, so I had to build a tent like arraingment over the thing to muffle it some and keep the rain off of it. I still have it. but it needs some repairs. It ran for over 2 years it was expensive to run electricity and grit wise, and somewhat brutal on the stones especially in the beginning. Before i knew what i was doing.
