I thinks this is the most beadwork I've done in quite awhile. I have so many cabs and so many ideas I want to do them all. Anyway, here is what I did with that dendritic agate. I used lapis beads in the bezel and the strap. Dot

Wow, I think that's your best! I like the way you "reflected" the dendritic pattern into the bead work under the cab. Very nice frame, too.
Adrian
PS. Are the cabs secure in such bead frames?

Thanks Adrian and fishenman. The cab is glued down to a felt backing and then beaded around. Then I use an ultra suede backing that is glued to the back of that and then the sandwich is stitched together with beads.

Wowsers, that is amazing. Pictures of the back and the process? That is needlework beading on the felt back, right? It looks like some of the beadwork that I have seen done by master craftspeople on some of the res' I've lived by. Any history there? Thanks for the photo! K

K, the cab is felt but the final backing is ultra suede. I don't have anything beaded on the back of it. As far as I know there isn't any NA in my blood, but I do love the style of what they do.
Thanks KD.

Beautiful piece. When you work with so many really small beads do you find that you wind up with beady eyes? Bob

Looks who's being funny!!!
Thanks Ralph and Mary Ann. I posed the question to hubby and we're going to do some budgeting and see if we can squeeze out a little bit for gas to get down there. If so, I'll definitely let you know.
