Hello, everyone! Yesterday I had to do a short trip (returned in the same day) for my business. I still had a few time for visiting some wild gorges and search for some rocks. Firstly, the gorges: After that, coming down to a "softer" landscape", I stopped to search on a riverbed. I didn't take the camera on the river because it was quite raised (over my knees) and pretty quick, so I wouldn't want to take any chances when crossing it. These are the rocks I found: From top left to bottom right: pet wood (see last pic), pet wood again, a cool swirly rock (see next pic), some brecciated stuff, two red jaspers and a dendritic jasper. I cherish those two pet woods very much, as this river is very "poor" in pet woods. I have about 5 or 6 pet woods from here. This is a nicely colored and patterned rock. It's also pretty hard, I hope it will polish OK: And my favorite, the wood that also has the "heart" of the tree: . Thanks for looking, Adrian

great finds Adrian...and beautiful scenery! I guess your pretty lucky being able to hunt rocks and enjoy nature like that; especially finding those treasures. Can't wait to see the swirly one polished. Steve

Wonderful. Your country is so beautiful. Nice finds, some great wood. Any fish in the river?

Adrian, I am just enjoying that you said "cool swirly rock"; what a hoot! I think we are corrupting your vocabulary.
Wonderful pix, wonderful rocks. I love the heart of the tree. Are you going to attempt to simply polish that, or perhaps make some cuts?

Adrian you have a beautiful country. I love your favorite wood, you don't see the pith in pet wood too often.

*sighs* Man playing outside is one thing, but being able to play in a place like that is gotta be next to Finding Gold.... Breath taking pics! and myself not knowing what the heart of the tree is, I'm so glad you found it as a treasure!

Great finds. Nice way to collect em too; rock climbing, water arobics with a nice back drop to boot. I saw lots of nice place to just sit and think.
