I posted this on another board, but thought I'd share here, as well. I finally got out for a rockhunt on Saturday. And while it did not produce the biggest haul, it certainly had its moments. Not the least of which was simply getting away from worldly cares and picking up rocks. Very therapeutic. I wound up driving 360 miles, met a confused and angry young man with a machete, saw some small towns, went down a lot of county roads thick with sand and a few pieces of chowder stone, and found some good stuff. In all, I picked up about 30 lbs., most of it pet wood, and some nice red jaspers (I'm envisioning some Adrian-style groove wraps). Most is tumbler fodder, but some are big enough to shape on the Workforce. The whole bunch: The red stuff: A couple snakewood, a couple ghost wood, the only piece of palm I found and a cool stone with great wood patterning (brown one at the top): Thanks for looking, matt

"Adrian - style groove wraps" Haha, thank you Matt for naming those wraps with my name. I agree with you, some of them would look just fine this way. Very nice haul, especially the pet wood. Adrian

Daniel, I have found a few of those black and white swirly ones, but haven't gotten any through a tumble yet. That one is decent enough size to try to get a couple shapes on the WF. Hope it shines. Seems like some of those black rocks do not get a high gloss polish.
