Last October I got a 4lb chunk of petrified algae form rockman69 when I drove through Colorado. Just got a chance to cut it. I took 4 slabs off one side, and tomorrow I will turn it 90-degrees and see if those slabs have much different pattern. The stuff I worked before was more gray/dk-green this is pretty much black and golden. I hope it takes a nice shine.

Daniel,
That's awesome! Love those patterns. And pleased to know I have a two-pound chunk in the garage. Never thought it would look anything like that. I hope it does. Looking forward to see what you do with it.

Beatiful patterns. I love how interesting algae can look once you cut into it.

Beautiful patterns, they remind me about stromatolite.
