Went with some club members to a regional rock swap. It was held at Lake Anna state park in VA about a 3 hour drive for us. Because it was held in a state park no cash sales were allowed so we had to swap rock for rock. Not knowing what to expect I took some cabs, slabs, and rough rock. Unfortunately most of the people brought specimen pieces so I felt out of place. I thought no one would want to trade with me. I was wrong. So I managed to start my specimen collection. Everything I got are common pieces but I think they are great. Here are some photos of my trades. Quartz cluster with iron stain. measures 4" x 2.5". Given to me by a gentleman who wanted me to have my first specimen. Quartz plate. Measures 4.5" x 4". Traded 2 slabs for this one. Polished Corprolite. 4" x 2". Traded a slab of black dino bone for this. Idaho quartz geode. 8" x 5" weighs 5 pounds. Traded a laguna agate cab for this one. Also got a 9 pound chunk of unakite and a 4 pound chunk of rhodonite for a 2 pound chunk of African Breccia jasper. Well thanks for looking and let me know if ya think I did well. Also if anyone has some specimens they are looking to sell let me know. I am addicted now!

Looks like you did real good, I like the quartz clusters. I have one that I bought for my mother-in-law, it's gonna be hard to part with.

What fun! You ended up with some great stuff there. You may have been starting your specimen collection, but you know what else you have done? Started those collectors on a cab collection!

The geode is amazing, like the dino dung as well. You got good swaps there.
