Just wondering if this is the "hot dog" blade people say is good? I thought just for kicks and giggles I would try a blade worth more than $2. I thought they were 7" so I was not sure.

That would be the one. They are less here in the states at the stores. Mine was 25.99 and I did not see any difference between it and the Husky ( 15.99) except the Hot dog is a bit thinner.

Stonewizard, I don't think that's it, because it is 8", which would take some modification to the saw. I think Wolfden has modified his WorkForce to take an 8" blade.
We have an MK blade that is 7" at my Home Depot, and I think it has flames on it, but I don't think I've been able to find the Hot Dog on the Home Depot web site.
Can someone else comment, please?

Home depot has discontinued this blade. If you can find them they are on clearance. 7in was 15.00, 10 in was 26. I picked up a few from 3 different stores..

I have only seen 7" and 10" but also an 8" I have heard but not seen -- but all the other dimensions in that spec look odd. Here is one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00009YUJSFOr the WF you do need 7"

I have a home built saw thats set up so I can use pretty much any blade size I want. But it looks like that is the right one just 8". Anyone ever try some of the other MK blades they sell (there are a lot) tinyurl.com/5yblqsor should I stick to a hot dog?

Husband has a jones for these blades, he has used a few others (nothing special) and has decided this is "the one" he likes. I have a "feeling" there are others out there he would like, but these make him happy! HD doesnt always have them in the same spot, sometimes in the rental dept, with the other woodworking blades, or with the tile saws. The last couple I got were kind of stuck out of the way, NEAR the tile saws, but on the bottom row of an end cap. Ask the rental guy if he has any, then have him check other local HD's to see if they show them in stock and give it a try. There have been many on EBAY lately, I wonder if this is why, guys grabbing them cheap them selling them?

Ah, almost forgot, there is a guy (local) whohas a saw shop and he refurbishes diamond bits etc.. he showed me a blade he has that he says is the same blade only with another label? or better? I'm sorry I cannot remember the what one it is! When I stop int here I will check again, but at least for future reference I know there is one the HE feels is equal.

Stonewizard - you're very near to me - where do you find Hot Dog blades in Home Depot for only 25.00? They are listed for $44.95 at our store here in Camarillo. Husband (who works there) says that Home Depot pays $25.80 for them.

turquoiselover- Yeah you are close. The home depot in Simi is up on Cochran between Madera and first. I bought it last summer and it was 25.99 or 98/97 something like that. I know it was less than 26 without tax. If it had been close to $50.00 I would not have bought it as I am quite happy with the Husky. Ya think they miss priced it? Must have. They would not make that little profit on purpose. Does hubby work at the main warehouse in Camarillo?

turquoiselover- My homedepot also have these priced at around $45, but when I took them up to the cash register they rang up as $15........YIPEE. None of the home depots I went to had them marked at the clearance price, but they all rang up that way.

You are correct in your PM, Stonewizard, no need to apologize. Camarillo's store is just a store. I don't know if it's bigger than Simi's, tho. He used to work at the store in Newbury Park until they built the store here. It's smaller than ours but laid out different. It's floor plan is weird, and he says there's only like 3 store in the country that have that plan. Well, crud, collie182.....even if I went to my store, wouldn't you know I have no $ til the 1st. This is killing me. I, too, like terrastomp's husband, prefer the Hot Dog blade. I love it's thinness, and it's seems to last longer than the Rigid, that I bought the last time to compare.

Well, I for one was in shock! Crap, my husband WORKS there, for crying out loud, and said he was NOT told of this clearance, that his cart computer still said $45! I'm jealous. I hate Home Depot.....but they have good benefits. sigh.
