Here are a few new pieces I made recently. Only today I got a chance to take a pic of all. First it's a dichroic cab Then a sunstone cab I bought on Ebay a while ago. The dark green rock used as prop has just passed the first stage of tumbling and is waiting it's time to go stage 2 ;D Not sure what the stone is, is green with black spots, found here locally. Any ideas? And lastly a silver wire wrapped bracelet with lampwork glass beads by an Etsy artist. Anyone knows what the prop rock is? Again I found it around here. Too big to do anything with it, so I'll use it as pics prop for now ;D Marika

Beautiful wraps! Sorry, I don't know what the rocks are though, except the last one looks like some kind of chert/jasper.

I love the second wrap. I bet the sunstone is amazing when the sun hits it.

Your "flowing" wires are more and more elegant! I like the triple wire "stream" on the second pendant. The framing of the first stone is also flawless.

Thanks everyone! Yes, the sunstone is really great when I hold it up against the sun, it has a lovely effect!

Kislany! That is such nice work! I can't imagine the eyes you must have. After an hour I have to stop and uncross mine I like the way you can make a grand and elegant wrap but somehow don't over power the stone. I was reading the post about the Koil Kutter and wondered if you have framed any cabs with rings? I have some ideas for ring bracelets but hate to go 85 bucks without knowing if my thoughts would work. Tony

Hi Tony, no I haven't used yet chainmail to wrap. Will have to give it a try sometimes. I know you'd need some kind of glue for it, as else it won't keep the stone in place.

Hey, Marika! I was thinking along the lines of a tree of life kind of thing. Where you would wire up the stone then connect to the rings. I guess you might have to solder the rings closed else the wrap wires might work out through the cuts over time. I think I'll hand cut some rings sometime and try to work up a prototype. T

Those are really pretty. Your wraps are becoming softer the more you do. Tami

Tony if you do, I'd love to see the prototype, as somehow I can't wrap my mind around the idea. I keep thinking of a net of some sorts, but I'm sure that's not what you're talking about!

Hey, Marika! Well, I guess you'd better not hold your breath. I made some coils today, and they turned out great using my battery powered drill with an almost drained battery... but cutting these things is a problem. I see now why the Koil Kutter would be a great thing to have. I cut a bunch with my wire cutters but that leaves large gaps so I don't think I'll go any further until I can get some ring pliers to close them with Tony
