I Decided that I wanted to learn about rock tumbling and stumbled upon this board. My name is Jason and I am a rockhoud fanatic. I figured that I needed to do something with all of the rocks that have accumulated in my yard and garage, so this is what led me here.
I'm currently without a tumbler but I'm torn between building one or just purchasing one.
The main reason for wanting to tumble is my 5 year old has been carrying his bag of tumbled rocks around that he got at my clubs rock show back in March.

Welcome Jason, I am from Gooding, 100 miles east of Boise. We are close enough that we can get together and go rock hunting once in a while, sounds like fun!!

Welcome Jason,
Yup, those little rascals will get you into tumbling every time. That's how I got into tumbling myself. My daughter at about age three would pick up rocks every where we'd go so I bought her a tumbler and then another, and another, and ..... As you will see you will spend a lot of great quality time with your little one. Enjoy it because it's a hobby that you guys can do for a long, long time.

Tony Yes that would be awesome. I tend to go out about every other weekend. Most of the time I am in the Owyhee's. Last weekend I was at Dismal Swamp fun fun. If you click the link in my signature it will take you to my website where you contact me or just see what kind of rockhounding trips I go on.

Welcome to the board. If your experience is like mine you are going to have a blast with the board. I have already gone in two trips with members of this board...my collection of rocks went from a handful to more than I can store in my backyard. If you ever decide you want to trade rocks from IDaho, let me know I can get you rocks from the West coast including Utah, Oregon, CA and AZ. Ozzy H. Orem, UT Good luck and welcome
