Time to clean out the slab bucket again. Mostly stuff I brought back from Oregon, with one local find. Here is one I bought at a rock shop in Oregon on the way home. She said it was Rocky Point. Closeups A geode from the 10 cent pile at Elkins in Prineville. I made a display piece out of the middle, will look nice after it is all polished up I think this is some pet wood that Daniel traded to me, sure some wild patterns in it. I went camping with my wifes family over 4th of July weekend up by Challis, a few of us hiked up the mountain quite a ways and found an old mine shaft that had a bunch of this swirly black and white rock in it. I brought one piece home to see how it would cut up. A colander full of stuff that wants to become cabs or at least tumbled I guess I need to work on gettin the cabbing machines up and running so I can play with some of this stuff. Thanks for lookin................Tony

Hi Tony - I think I remember that wood, but the outside patterns were not as wild. So, is this the last slab-bucket dump until you get your saws back up and running?

Hey Daniel, I almost didn't cut it because it looked oh so plain, but I thought if you sent it, it deserved a look inside.
I still have a 16" saw at the house, so I am not totally without a saw, I just can't cut anything really big. The fire got the 18" and the 30". The 18" was taken apart for a total cleaning, and the 30" was mainly used to cut stuff down to fit into the 16" and 18" sizes.
Thanks for the trade, some good stuff!
Tony

That Rocky Point is really cool. That'll make some interesting cabs, as will that pet wood...very nice patterns in that.
