Polkadot is one of my favs! Shain (freeform) cut up a hunk of the "blue ice" polkadot I had & made me a real nice set of cabs. I also have a pretty little slab that actually has pink in it!
Love the brown/yellow colors Beef and I think the healed fractures give it more interest.
Did ya get it from the ranch or Westcoast?

Hi Liz, I got the rough from Westcoast. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some Blue Ice!

The blue ice is nice. I find more landscapes though in the opaque white because the bule is so translucent. The ones with some redish gold-green hills are my favorites.
Lots of folks in Oregon sell ths for $2-$3/lb but you have to look for pieces as nice as what WCG sells. I looked at the Richardsons stuff real close because it is only $1/lb. But the pieces are mostly 10lb+ and lots of white with not too many dots. They may get more any time though because the pitt is not too far from RR.
I will be at a guy's place on the 24th and he has some decent polka dot for $2-$3/lb. I could shop for folks.

That sure is pretty stuff!! I was up in Prineville for the show in June, and happened to visit Elkins...and found a 10 lb piece from their 10 cent pile...I'm yet to tumble though.
Thanks for sharing.

Well Jack, Like I said above, I stood in front of that pile and looked for a long time because $1/lb is a pretty good price. All I can say is I did not buy. This is a pretty amazing statement for me. I buy rock as readily as I suck air. In the last two visits to Richardson's, I spent a total of $400 on rock - and I did not get any of his polka dot.
I know the pit is close to the Richardson's and new stock can come in anytime. But in June, it was picked over, not so many dots, and very large pieces.
When I pick something out for Beef, it will be worthwhile or I will not get it. I will push this guy I know for the best price - because I have spent about $300 with him in the past, and he should give me a repeat business discount. And if I don't see anything I think is worth the price, I will tell Beef I did not see anything I liked.
