This is a cab Steve Holms sent me as a “little extra” in with the others in his last contest. I fell in love with all the crystals in the druzy but found it a challenge to wrap without compromising the cab. After a month of contemplation and one bad wrap that I cut off, this is what I came up with. The top crystal (creamy white) is calcite and that black dot is another tiny crystal. I could not bare the thought of possibly ruining the cab while trying to clean the silver so the cab slides off the wrap before cleaning the silver. Back side I’m not certain I am going to keep the wires extending above the cab. If I do, I will file them more smoothly. Feel free to lend me your thoughts or advice about this. Thanks for looking

I like the wires up at the top - I think you should leave them, they keep the continuity with the top ones - Great idea!

That is REALLY an original! Wowsers!
I LOVE how you have the wire so beautifully placed behind the hole. The top is amazing and so fitting for the stone; how did you do that? It looks sort of Aztec or something.

Wow, Lori...that is awesome! I think you should leave the wires up top...they nicely reflect the ones below. Truly a unique cab and wrap, that's for sure!

Thanks for all your input. I'll keep the wires at the top. Actually, looking at the pic, the wrap is very simple. Just 8 with varying lengths, twisted in the middle, wrapped with 1/2 round and then the wires are spread apart. The middle 2 wires are used as the hook.

Lori, Oncce again youve created something gorgeous out of an amateur cab! Love what you came up with. I could never have enough crativity for wire wrapping. It's such a talent and an art. Thanks for sharing that wrap with us. Steve

Brian, I decided that the dino cab you sent has to be wrapped in gold. May take a while but I am really looking forward to it. It will be my first wrap in gold.
Steve, if you consider that one of your amature cabs, then humility is synonamous with "GodLike" ;D
Tony and raqy thank you for your compliments.

very nice! I like the fact the back is as decorative as the front without compromising your stone. Very nicely done!
