I asked Nichole to do the first cab so that I could watch how it is done. This is the first stone being cabbed. The finished product. I preformed it as a free form. The next three I did under expert guidance from Nichole. Some kind of agate. I chose to do this one first as it came from the beach so if I fouled up, no big deal. An Ebay win. I forgot what it was but Nichole said it was Pet Wood with maybe a knot. Royal Jasper from Mary Ann’s silent auction a while back. Jamie's Chrysocola was to be next but it was 4:00 pm with an 1 1/2hr ride home so, sadly, I had to pack up and go. Nichole, I learned so much from you and had a ton of fun. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality. Thanks for looking all, I hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for your replies, it means a lot, and it was RTH magic as I would not have had this experience had I not found this forum and a good member to teach me. Steve, will have to wait a while for my cabbin machine. You know, save the pennies. But I bought my camera from money I picked out of the washer and dryer . All of a sudden, I like doing laundry. ;D Lori

That last one is one of the most beautiful cabs I've seen! Perfect oval shape, and the pattern reminds me a Japanese painting with some blossom trees in the foreground and a bursting volcano (could it be Fuji?) in the background. Treasure that cab, it's very unique!
Adrian
PS. I've noticed I'm not the first one who sees a volcano inside that cab. Tweet, you're right, it could also be Vesuvius!

Hey, those photos came out pretty good, Lori! We had a very fun day, and it was nice to have someone to talk rocks with...besides boring my husband to tears, that is. She really did a great job...Lori's a quick learner, and is totally addicted now.

Mary Ann and Ralph, thank you. There is pressure in doing justice to stones and rocks whether you are slabbing, cabbing or wrapping them.
Hey Titania, saving for a Lortone. After watching and learning from you, I got one heck of an education. I hope you can make it down my way to explore the beach before winter sets in. Just let me know when you are ready.
Dennis, none in my family give this passion of mine more than a passing interest so I know how you feel.
Yup, I'm addicted.
