Last weekend we went with hubby to the seaside (in Paphos for anyone who's been to Cyprus before), and we gathered some smaller rocks and pebbles for tumbling. They're nothing as fancy as the rocks I see here coming from the US, but I'll have to make do with what I have So I found this oval shaped rocks, and as it had already that form, I didn't put it for tumbling, but made it into a small cab. Not sure what it is, could it be a weird color of serpentine, or maybe a sunstone? Oh and anyone has an idea what the big rock that I use for display it? Some sort of agate, or maybe quarts? Also found it at that particular beach... Marika

The colors in that cab a beautiful. If those are plentiful on your beach, I'd be there everyday collecting. Keslany, there is just something about creating a cab and wrap with stones that are found locally. It makes the necklace just that more beautiful imho.

Marika, your pendants look so proffesional by now! And the fact that you make them entirely (including the cabs) is really great!

That wrap really shows off the stone and its wonderful coloring. I don't know what it or the stone below it are, but they are great finds! Fran

That is a beautiful wrap. As for the larger stone, it is really hard to tell what it is, if you can either cut into it or break a small piece off to see what is under the rind. Tami

Hi Marika, The wrap looks good on the pendant. I've some similar stones here - geologists had said they are either "marble" or a highly compressed limestone with iron inclusions...if it's really smooth. If it's "crystally" (yah, that's a techneeeeekal term) then it's probably a quartzite. IMHO That's what I'm guessing based on the photos.
The display rock looks like it could be an agate or a quartzite or quartz.
Let us know when you find out what they are!
I'm addicted to the local stones where I live and that's pretty much all I work with. No two are every completely the same and I'm often surprised by what I find inside them!

Beautiful wrap, Marika! And it is great you are now cabbing your own stuff. Do you still have your finger nails? Tony
