I've been waiting for almost 2 hours for my last rock to get cut...it's finally finished I can now post a few pics and go to bed. This is a slice from the unknown one I posted in the ID section. I sliced it 3 times this way; now I need to rotate it and slice it the other way. Still don't know what it is. It's hard stuff though! 2 Dryheads. I love full faced nodules like these. The last one is the one that was freshly sliced 10 minutes ago. It's a big nodule...almost 8" long 6" diamater. My saw didn't want to cut it...but it struggled through it. I will continue slicing this one tomorrow. Lastly..just a few B-Flies cut and ready. Still struggling with colors and what not...but oh well. That's all for this weekend. Steve

Dan, I am thinking that it's actually wood...like Bog wood or something. It was found here in Utah. Thanks for looking at my cuts and slices. Steve

So what's next? Butterflies? ... see you perfected the fish.. as I'm sure you will with these... cuz so far they are lookin good! .. If I may toss in a suggestion.. just because I haven't seen any like these before.. why not try some wings that are a little translucent( If you haven't already- if you have.. sorry my bad) .... that way if you ever get to hang them.. maybe a wind chime or sun catcher.. they'd be even that much more of a treat ... but still they are cool.. I really like that top one!
