I forgot to mention that I also picked up my tumbler and will begin my first batch later this week! I've got about 35# of Rose Quartz to pick through and will tumble some of it first, then I'll do some of the green and blue peices of Beryl.

Yeah I'm proud of that one! I'm kinda scared to clean it up, in fear of it breaking or something. I might leave it as is.

Roxie.... yes you have, although you probably know them more by their color specific labels; -green beryl is emerald, blue beryl is aquamarine, colorless beryl is called goshenite, pink beryl is morganite, red beryl is bixbite or "red emerald" or "scarlet emerald," clear bright yellow beryl is "golden beryl," yellow-green beryl is heliodor, and deep blue beryl is maxixe. (from wikipedia)

WOW didn't know there were that many! None of it is "CLEAR". All the Star Rose Quartz has a bit of "foggyness" to it. Some more than others. I think someone told me that is what makes it "Star" like Star Sapphire when it's polished.

I lost a piece of aqua about the size of a pencil eraser! I saw it about the time I hit the dirt with my little garden rake and it tumbled down into a pile of loose dirt I had already dug through! I never spotted it again!
