Beautiful pictures. Have you noticed how unexpectedly fast can be those turtles when you approach them?

Wow! I have never heard of a hummingbird moth! Great pics. It looks like many of the butterflies stayed still, for those first pictures! So many different colors on the butterflies and grasshoppers. Beautiful dragonfly, too!
Thanks for the pictures.

KD Thanks KD. Do you have things that bugs you about bugs? That one looks just like covelite. I would agree with with UtahRockHound - we could wirewrap it. Hey huffstuff, they are usually very active and I had to take many pictures in order to make a couple of good ones.

Those are really awesome pics. The first and only Humming Bird I ever caught was a Hummingbird Moth when I was young.

Wow, Zoran, Thanks so much for your wonderful pix! My first experience with a hummingbird moth was when I looked out my window, and thought my cat was attacking a hummingbird! I saved it, haha. This is what I have, here in Nebraska, middle USA: Hemaris thysbe, also known as the 'common clearwing', a type of sphinx moth. You did a wonderful job with your pix of both! How amazing, that you caught a hummingbird (you call them colibri?) with your camera! Pretty scary, that deadly long nosed adder. How close were ya? Jeez! And how fun for your wife. She is a flower, the butterflies knew that.
Thanks so much for sharing your time with us! K

Thanks. Karen, here we call hummingbirds - colibri. That adder was 1,5-2 m away from me. I wasn't too close. I upset her enough trying to take a good photo - I decided it's good not to push my luck further. ;D You are right about my wife, Karen. I keep telling her - You are my sweet little insect., mh. I mean butterfly ;D
