Time to clean out the slab bucket again, it got really full this time. A table full of slabs Obsidian We went out to dinner last week and when we came out, some of the folks were lagging behind talking to other people, so I was outside looking at the landscaping rocks. This one just happened to jump into the trunk of my wife's car, its some translucent quartz, a nice shade of green, the rock was about 50 lbs. hard to get a closeup that shows how cool it really is I finally got around to takin a couple slices off of that chunk of pietersite, nice lookin stuff. a snowflake obsidian and a pietersite cab preform This is some misc stuff, rocky butte, glass, a couple of unknowns from the Utah rock pile rocky butte unknowns from the utah pile I will have more of the Utah stuff in the next bucket. Thanks for looking...............Tony

I kinda did the samething. When ralph and i were looking to buy a home, he sent me out looking first to weed threw them....... well i went up to this one home, the ppl had already moved out so being in az. everyone has rock in their yard. Well, as i looked around the home i seen some really nice rock, snowflake obsidian, agate etc. Well one of them also jumped into my car and wanted to come home with me.......... I told ralph when i got home, That home was pretty nice and if anyone asks why i took that rock i will just tell them i am buying the house, one rock at a time lol

Lol! I guess that huge aquisition just wasn't enough to satisfy the addiction for long.
Where the heck do you find natural glass and is it a type of obsidian? I have never seen it before.
I think that green Quartz is known as Aventurine but not positive.

The glass is from Jamie and Rodney, they gave it to me to cut up for Harley, he is going to try some points out of it. I think it is slag glass. I did find a piece of blue obsidian in the utah pile, I will try to get a pic of it today and post that. It is gorgeous.

Very impressive , Tony, as usual when it's about your slabing work. The pietersite, the rocky butte and the snowflakes are my favorites.

Looks like you have been busy on the saw. Strange how rocks end up in the back of car/truck from another location other than out rockhounding... ;D. I was out picking up Michigan agates from the hotel I was staying at in Minnesota, wife asked how they wound up in jeep....
