Judging from the brown somewhat distorted matrix and the look of the agate filling I'd say that 's a slice from a thunderegg from the Baker beds near Hermanas, NM. Many of the eggs from that location aren't very round but rather irregular masses and those bright reds and grays are very typical of Baker eggs.....Mel

Thank you Mel. That is a very good possibility as my father in law has been all over that area and has found thundereggs as well.
