I am looking to get set up with a couple of tumblers and I see these Chicago 3# tumblers on e-bay. Are these any better or worse than the Lortone 3a or the Thumbler A-R1?

I bought one of these about 4 months ago, it looked like a lortone..it was $29.95 in their store......WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP (yes I yelled that) after 4 weeks the belt broke. No problem I replaced it with the one that came with it..it broke in 2 weeks..and this is running a load of pea gravel you get at Lows that I had left over from setting out flowers this past spring...Yup I’m a man ;-)
anyway after buying more belts , I cam home one day to find it humming and not moving....belt again..no the crappy Chinese motor had gone out. I disassembled it entirely and found out the shaded pole motor used has cheap plastic ears holding the bearings (which were crap) in place..I clened the entire thing up and could see where the armature had been dragging on the field..I got it to work a while longer..but then it crapped out on me again. I wrote Harbor Freight and they said they only warranty it for 30 days...this should be a sticky so no unsuspecting hobbyist buys another thing from these people.
Sincerely Dwight Pilkilton

Ok, I get it! Lortone it is. I am running the daylights out of a toy right now. Thanks for your advice.

Then you will be amazed at the Lortone. If I had to make a suggeston to you it would be to get the dual 3 lb. Lortone...later you might want to add another dual 3lb. and you could produce 3 lbs. of finished rock a week.

I also reccomend the dual 3 lb., loretone. For me it is perfect, and works flawlessly.
