Can anyone recommend a good 18" blade ? I don't mind paying extra if it is worth it . I have some reeeeally hard agate to cut . I looked and couldnt seem to find a continous rim 18" blade except in the economy range ( I'm geussing the continous rim would yield a smoother cut than a segmented ? ) . I'd be interested in hearing recomendations on the best blade and where to get it . Thanks everybody in advance !

I got mine from "stoneage industries" last year -- the MK 301 -- if you watch they usually have a jan, feb, mar sale at 20-25 % off--if you can wait that long ---- I couldn't find a continous rim either in the 18" ---16" was as big as they go anymore---- wish they still made the old "blue Blazer" !!!!!!!!!

Barranca blades are on sale thru the end of the month. The 301 is 20% off and the 303 is 25% off. They are the exact same as the MK including model numbers. Barranca is owned by diamond pacific. I have been running the 301 and love it. Here is a link to there price list. www.barrancadiamond.com/pdf/bd_summer_sale.pdf

Barranca is owned by MK not Diamond Pacific. Diamond Pacific is Barranca's biggest blade customer. I have not tried the new 301 but everyone that has says it is even better than the 303 which is a fantastic blade. The segmented rim 303 does a great job on hard materials. The segments allow better cooling than a continuous rim. The new 301 has notch-like ridges and a taller kerf. It also has a taller price.
