It was bejewelme's ??th birthday last month and I wanted to make her a special pendent. The stone is seraphinite that she got when she visited stoner. I did a free form cab and then wrapped it in sterling. This was my first attempt at silver and I used dead soft. Its a bit too soft I think so next time I order I'll try half hard.

WOW beautiful piece - if you want to harden the wrap you can tumble it (I don't remember in what - I'm thinking dry rice but I'm not sure - steel shot maybe ) Half hard is "full hard" to work with (as my daughter would say)

I love the wrapped bail - or is it really twisted?
I agree with Tweety - half-hard is very hard to work with, especially after you've worked it a bit. I have to break out my tools when working half-hard. I've even had a piece of half-hard break on me when I worked it past full hard...

Ok, it was my 40th birthday and I was so bummed, but being in Myrtle Beach with Tony made things bettter especially when I got this beautiful pendant from him. There is another beautiful cab he gave me that day, a piece of Laboridite, that he has not had time to wrap yet. It was a good birthday, and 40 still sucks, but I could be 50, and feel worse. hahahahahah.

lol, bejewelme, once you pass 40 and get use to it, all others are just time going past. 50 aint nothin. Happy birthday!
Tony that is one beautiful birthday present you made. Stick to the dead soft as silver tends to get harder the more you work it so the half hard would be very difficult. Half hard wire doesn't conform to the cabs shape as easily and you will struggle with gaps around the edge of the cab.

Thanks all for the tips. I will stick to the half hard, I have a bunch of it on hand anyway and no cash to order more for now. Tweety I've heard of putting it in a vibe with steel shot but not rice. Does that work?

steel shot will work in a rotary tumbler too, but i'd worry about the seraphinte because it is SO soft. nice job on both the cab and the wrap!
happy belated birthday, bejewel!

KD - I've tumble polished seraphanite before. I watch it fairly closely and don't leave it longer than 45 minutes, but so far it hasn't been hurt...

Great work Tony! I prefer to work with DS like Tweet and Arkansan. It's so much easier than HH. Love that serephenite too!!! WTG Ed!!! Steve

Nicely done, Tony! And the wrapped bail impresses. But I'm most impressed with you being able to lure her into the basement, and in short order to the beach! Do you think if I dangle my opals around I could get a lady into my crawl space? No basement unfortunately Oh, wait... it wasn't to see the zombies was it... it was to see the arbor! Never mind.... T

Tony, thanks for the compliment but she WANTED to go into the basement. Since you don't have a basement I guess you don't realize that most don't have zombies. Mine is certainly zombie free. If you dangle your opals in front of me you could certainly lure me where ever you wanted.

Tony W, with your nice opals you could lure me into a crawlspace, plus you both have the same name, so in my thows of passion over rocks, I won't shout out the wrong name, hahahaha. Amber
