This is a cab from last year's Burro Creek RTH field trip. Man, that was an awesome time! Wrapped in mostly coloered coppers. I seem to be switching between coppers and sterling/gold filled wires. This is an Ocean Jasper cab I did from rough I got at Happy Valley Pow Wow a couple of years ago from the OJ guy. Cheers!

I can't imagine how long wraps like those take. That is amazing work but what really blows me away is the vision it takes to make something like that. You are extremely talented.

Awesome job on both. the color of the first one really goes with the stone. BUT the second one is my favorite - but then I've always been a simple girl!

They're both beautiful! I like the OJ the most. That framing is awesome.

Aww, thanks, fellow RTH'rs! Larry, one takes me anywhere between 4-10 hours, depending on how many cabs (double cabbers take longer) and how much I get carried away with the wire. I seem to have calmed the uber-wire a bit, where the cab is lost in coil after coil of wire, like the first ones I did. lol!
I get more attached to the cab then the wire work. Just a rock gal at heart!

Dee, IMO you've struck the perfect balance ... ornate, but highlighting the stone rather than detracting from it.
I'm a big fan of copper (of course), and I think the first piece is a real jaw-dropper.

I love looking at your wraps. That OJ is amazing and the wrap conforms beautifully to it. Swirls of bubble in the ocean being tossed around in the waves. Just beautfitul.

Wonderful! That style is my favourite. I love the combination of wires - the colours really play up the colours in the stone (first one). The second is precious as well. I would love to someday sit in on a Rainbow wrapping session. I see the young folks on DeviantArt and am blown away by what they can do with wire. This gal is my fave in that genre :http://nonomie.deviantart.com/ She just went to jeweler's school, Revere Academy I believe, for a session and her work really went up about 10 notches. Her work is perfection. I know the style isn't everyone's taste, but the talent and skill involved have to impress. :-)

Another master at work. That first one is a work of art, I can't even do a simple wrap. The colors are stunning, the whole thought of how to do that, makes my brain hurt. It is beautiful!
