I found some time while watching the Autumn Jasper slice (sigh) to wrap a few pieces this weekend. You might remember the cabs. Willow Creek: Belvade Jasper: Crazy Lace:

Beautiful work, all three are outstanding, just enough wire without covering up the cab and the bends are perfect. Very cool!!

I scrolled down, and up, and then down again, and no use: I can't pick a favorite among them: I like them all very much.

Wow great wraps Ronda. I love the "tail" on the first one and the the "basket" shape of the last one. I still have such a long way to go with wrapping.

I love the swirls that cross over each other. Haven't been brave enough to try it yet. Is there a technique to doing it that ensures the wire wont make an angle bend?
They are all beautiful and I especially love the Crazy Lace.

sitnwrap - the only trick is to use your fingers. The square wire helps - you hold the wires close together and flat while doing the bends. Your fingers being there means the wire will actually curve rather than angle out.
Thanks guys - I'm not to thrilled about the middle one; it's out of balance to me. But it was a request: they wanted a similar top to another one they had already purchased on that particular stone. I'm thinking about taking it apart and trying again, with a less tall neck. We'll see.

I think I got it. The swirl on your second pic, you pressed the wire against the cab with your thumb as you were bending it around. Thanks for the tip.

You got it! If it's not against the stone, you can hold it between your thumb and pointer finger as well.

Those are all very nice. I think the balance is fine on all of them. They are three very unique pieces and I think you took good designs to compliment the stones for each. Nice work.

Oh, so good! Lots of creativity in those bails and I like the tail on the first one. Tony

Middle one out of balance? You're crazy ;D lol....I think that's actually my favorite out of the three.
