I did this one today, the pic sorta makes it look like crap. The wire is really bright 14k gold filled but the pic makes it look like some base-metal junk. lol.... anyhow, I'm having fun and I'll probably do another tonight if I have the time. (I have a welding job to do tonight) Oh, the wrap ;D .........

Really nice wrap!
Are you sure it's lepidolite? It doesn't have the gumdrop look on my screen (and yes, it could definitely be my screen...).

I LOVE IT, I just got a slab of lepidolite from Stonesthatrock, and I am anxious to make some cabs with it, my mom loves lavender too, so I want to make her something.

Akansan- yep, it's lepidolite. I have this stuff in three different shades of purple/lavender, each one is completely different. This cab came from a large chunk that Kim (rockyraccoon) gave me.

I thought the wire was silver. Taking pics can be a reall pain. This is just beautiful and I love that purple stone. It looks like feathers are floating in it.

It's terrific - the only lepidolite I've seen is the gum-droppy kind, without those swirls and color variations. I might have to revisit that stone as one I'd like.

I'm with the lepodolite/gumdrop people - Although it looks like yours (which is much nicer than the stuff I have) polished up better than mine ever did - mine had a smooth pitted surface - yours looks a bit like a lighter charoite
Great wrap BTW! Is that round wire? I hate working with round wire now that I've tried the square wire!

Thanks y'all! Nancy- it's square wire. That's another thing that the pic messes up. My camera isn't the best, I need to borrow my daughter's camera. lol

I think that's a terrific wrap. The wire wrap design is simple but it's still elegant. The scrolls are smooth and free from tool marks. That gets an A+ in my book. It's not in the least cumbersome and the stone is a perfect shape for that wrap. Way to go!

Thanks! Banjo- It was your stuff that first inspired me to do this, and it takes my mind off the real world.

That is great, Randy! I'm particularly impressed with the bail sweeps... they are so regulated and even... I still can't figure out how to do that. Tony

Very pretty. I still haven't figured out how to get the wire to behave so well on those sweeping curves. I also struggle a lot with the square wire twisting on me. Guess I need to do a few hundred so I can get as good as you.

Thanks y'all! Tony- The swirls aren't all that hard to do, the trick is to use dead soft wire because it doesn't have memory.
