The metal drum would need to be rubber lined but you could do some big rocks then.

I think they are tumbling Boulders.
Your shop would sound like a Train Wreck 24-7. Your neighbors would love you.

Yep Definatly have to be rubber lined
(I used to use gallon paintins in my earlie tumbling days)
Progression goes like this Sides go = Line with rubber. Then Ends go = Fit plastic shield TOP goes = fit wood top inside . grit gets to seal = --------- Tin ends up in Bin !!
have a good day (away from Tins & Bins)

Adrian's machines are prettier. :-)
I think you'd have to shovel in both grit and rough. I'd hate to have to wash and cull one of those loads. It would take all day!

How would you get the barrel off the rollers to open it? I would think you would have to have an overhead chain & pully system, maybe some kind of sling setup?
Watch your toes when moving that full barrel!

Yes...but you would only have to tumble once every several years (except Tony with his trailer loads ) And you'd have to move it with a fork lift ! Dr Joe .

Awesome tumbler, it's power requirements are 220 volt and 3 phase power. Residential power is single-phase.

I'm thinking that a nice thick coat of Linex would do just fine inside the barrel.

Agreed, and just use a phase converter for the power.

I'm not sure what Linex is, but Dr. Joe has suggested in another thread that the truck bed liner spray-on material would be good for the purpose. Mark H.
