So now that I have made a few groove wraps, what does everyone use to hang them off ? A piece of cord doesn't look too great and I think the weight would eventualy wreck a gold chain. What do I do with these things? ??

Sask: Just use an appropriate sized chain either gold, or silver to match the wrap, and hang them from your sweeties neck............that is why women have beautiful necks. You can, of course check the many different leather, hemp, nylon cords and etcetre you can find in beading shops. Woody

I've also seen wraps hung from those solid wire necklaces - sometimes called collar necklaces? I think the necklace would be too expensive to sell with each wrap - but a great way alternate way to display the wrap in photos. I'll see if I can find an example.... Amy Here you go... I've not had any concerns about weight and chains. They do look awesome on solid wire necklaces like Amy mentioned, but I normally just use regular chains. They're fairly inexpensive (buy in bulk for about $6/chain).
Another option that I've used is 2mm satin cord with silver end caps. I keep it in three colors - brown, black, and dk. gray - and it goes over very well. The satin cord is less expensive than leather, but there's also leather out there as well...

I like leather cord with silver end caps for the clasp.... you can buy the cord and clasps from the same source ususally... leather is quite sturdy.

Thanks for the ideas. The solid wire is really nice. It has Christmas present for my honey written all over it. Thanks once again

Not everyone likes the same length of necklace. Ive used this tutorial before. It makes nice adjustable cords to hang pendants from. Probably best used on casual pendants like those that have glue on bails and such. For the really elegant ones, I use a chain. www.ejrbeads.co.uk/adjustable%20page%201.htmShannon

Kind of like Shannon's idea...I bought some hemp cord and I tied a hangman's noose in one end and knotted the other end. Stick the knot through the noose and pull the noose tight. To undo it just pull the noose loose. I've been wearing my groove cut bot like this for near a week to test it all out. So far so good. Tony

Do you have a photo Tony? I have trouble envisioning things without a photo.

For Shannon.... I was going to do one fresh, but just didn't have time. This knot is pretty loose and the cord is a bit frayed. This guage of hemp is too thin for my taste. I might double it if I decide to use it myself. And I would wax the ends before tying so as to get a good clean knot. Just a basic hangman's noose. I put two knots in the other end so it looks a little funky, but one small knot will do. The noose won't get loose if you pull it good and tight. And you can just grab the small knot and its string and work the noose loose pretty quick. And I'd make the noose twice as long next time out. Tony
