My boyfriend Bill and I rockhounded at a neighboring location here in Pennsylvania (in the middle of the suburbs) and brought this back. We hiked quite a while and only had a pocket vest, rock pouch and a backpack. It's a type of moonstone, technically, but has some green moonstone, some amazonite microline, some actinolite crystals, and a sunstone hue. Really amazing with the mint green color. The blocky stuff has a chatoyant sheen and is a little harder and I have messed around making some cabs that look great, even with my cruddy work. Waiting til I get my new UV-10 to finish them properly. Anyway, I'm naming it Sun, Moon and Earth Stone. This is what we came back with (scrubbed up and drying on top of the dryer). Indoor lighting makes it look more yellow than it really is, so I took some pics outside. Here's one trying to show the sheen (does not do justice). I swapped some with BikerRandy and Bejewelme (and Tony), and I'm dyin' to see how they look properly cabbed. (I'll get my act together, I promise) Anyway, hope you all enjoyed this, I'm gonna go rest my back now (ouch). I'll cut some slabs with my new WF 7" tile saw and post them. Thanks for looking. Jo

Excellent! Please do post when you work them up. There is nothing as satisfying as a finished product made from found rock...

Started a bunch of teenies in 60/90 rough grit last Friday. Pulled 'em out so I had some good grit carriers to go into my first vibe load of precuts (as soon as my vibe gets here). Separated out this sun, moon, earth stuff and am very pleased. Let me know what you think: After 5 days in 60/90: and this one has it all: sun, moon and earth Thanks to all of you for your great teaching and encouragement, I have a good, solid start and... Thanks for lookin'! Jo
