So this may seem silly and very uneconomical as it does waste some wire but if you don't have a pin vice or a dremel or screw gun, this works fine for the time being. It does not hurt the mixer in any way that I figure. take a length of wire and add about 1.5" more for wraping around the mixer. Make certain that you only put one mixing thing in the mixer. LEAVE the other one OFF! Grab the other end of the wire with a flat nose plier and hold the wire tightly and taught. turn the mixer on slow speed and voila! I hope you enjoyed the tutorial ;D

I like it! What do you reckon then Sitnwrap? Shall we twist again?! ;D He he he he! I must have a go now I've seen the way to do it! That's a neat trick and no denying, very interesting use of food utensils for lapidary and jewelry making! ;D Well Done! Cheers, Sparkles.

Could you maybe make a small twisted loop at the end of your wire and attach a piece of scrap wire to the beater and into the twisted loop? You might save a bit on wire? Just a thought, I'm all about saving on stuff!

Very inventive. Of course I don't have a mixer but I do have a Dremel so I think I'm good. I'm really going to try twisted wire in my next wrap. It has me really intrigued.

Yes Sparkles, Again but this time Twist n Shout! ;D
Go for it Tony, it just adds to the creative power I don't twist all the time but it is sure fun when I do.
Tweetie, I'm all for saving the good stuff so your idea is great. I'm all for modifying anything I can find.
I wonder if an electric carving knife can be modified to be used as a grinder/polisher for soft stone. Can you charge the blade with diamond paste I wonder??? ;D

I imagine that an electric "knife sharpener" can probably be turned into a grinder if you take the cover off. ;D

Lori, I swear you are so creative with the use of power tools and appliances, it is a little scary the metal objects you stick into electrical devices, hahahaha, be careful, but I am impressed. amber

Wow! Cool idea. Sure beats my "tie wire to tail of cat... start up vacume cleaner behind cat" method ;D Now this is hilarious! ;D except that I think extracting the cat claws from your face might hurt quite a bit! LMAO

Frane, the best part about not knowing if it will work is when no one has told you it wont work. lol. you are welcome. Just dont get the wire near the plug.

hahaha Jo, I don't either!! I'm not real fond of mashed taters so if I do make them I use the old fashioned hand thing!!! My son hates them too. He said he likes the instant ones at school, yuck

I was trying to thing of something that almost everyone has that can be used to twist wire. Do you have a cat and a Vacuum? ??haha. J/k. A dremel is better, I know my sister uses a dremel but I don't know how as I don't own one. Something about hooking the wire to be twisted on one of the dremel attachments but I don't know what attachment.
