OK I am so stoked, I found a site from a member on here called Amber-Werx, well it turns out he makes a genie type machine, I am getting it for $650 with shipping....What do you guys think? I am mailing the check tonight, the man that makes it deals Amber and he is sending me bags of Amber because of my name, how cute, and he is 90. He said working with Amber keeps him young, hahahaha. The wheels are old genie wheels, resurfaced with diamond. I hope this will be good, since it is almost 1/3 the price of the Genie. www.amber-werx.comAmber

Someone that either still is on here or has been on here in the past uses one of these. It's come up a time a or two. Let me see if I can find any of the comments on it.

Akansan: Thank you so much for that link. He was in CT and now lives in CA full time. He makes them with the soft Genie wheels that are resurfaced. The site was recommended by someone one here to save some money versus the genie. He siad he is turning 90 and he sent his numbers to call him.
I knew all you smart people would be able to help me!!!! Thanks everyone. I am going for it. I figure it looks good, and Tony is handy enough that if there are minor tweakings involved he can work them out.
I shouldn't be spending the money, but oh well, you only live once.

Amber,
I don't see how you can go wrong. Lapidary equipment holds its value and there is no way to put a price on the enjoyment and satisfaction we find in making cabs. I am very happy for you and look forward to all the beauty you will share. John

Remember to break-in the wheels (to true them up) before working on anything of value. Just remember who let you use their equipment when you were cabber poor Are you tracking it yet? Dr Joe

Well Dr. Jo, you bring up a point--- what does breaking in the wheels mean? The point of my cab machine is to keep Tony at my house! Now when I lock him in the basement he can cab No, the old man said it may not arrive until after Christmas, so I have some time to clean up the utility area, I guess my shoe and handbag collection will be replaced with rock!!! I know a certain person who said he would help me clean that area!!! Thanks guys as soon as it arrives I will post a pic Amber's Amber Cab Machine, how cool is that, it might have my name already on it! Amber

All new wheels should be broken in with a hard material (I use a polished flat slab of agate or jasper) just work the wheel for a few seconds with it and look at the material for irregular (deep) scratches. Start tracking and posting the the location of the AACM so we can watch it's journey (the fustrating part...waiting). Don't let Tony know about that "certain person" that's going to help you clean . Locked in the basement huh?! Didn't I see that on a soap opera once? (Hint...if you lock the door from the inside it's more fun ;D). Store the rocks in the purses and you'll only need a pair of boots for rockhounding so the other shoes can go. Dr Joe .

lol I already know about helping her clean out a spot for it and even volunteered. Well being locked in the basement isnt so bad if there is a cab machine there but I could think of better rooms to be locked in. lol

Good for you Amber. I've looked at that machine and I think you'll do just fine with it. It has everything you need to cut a cab from start to finish. See, I told you it was a slippery slope down to rock bottom!!! I'm interested in finding out about the re surfaced Nova wheels, so please let us know how well they work.

Is it here yet? How about now? The wait is a KILLER! Look at it this way, you're building up points with the rock saints. I'm definitely curious as to how those resurfaced wheels work out for you. It's definitely cheaper than getting new ones...although I have done well recently buying GP wheels off ebay.
