This is a cab from a box of cabs that tonyterner sent to me a few months ago. I showed my friend the cabs and told her to pick the one she liked best. This is what she is getting for Christmas. I used 14gf 22 gauge binding at the top so that the eye would be drawn to the top where the really neat pattern on the stone is. Thanks Tony for the cab. This wrap is special because my daughters friend asked if she could pick out a piece of jewelry for her mom's Christmas present. Her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and just past her 5th year survivors milestone. The daughter was only 11 at the time the cancer was found and she had to take on a lot of resposability at a very young age in order to help her mom. Her mom loves purple and I had a Charoit (sp?) cab that I had bought a couple of years ago. This is what she will be giving her mom on Christmas. I felt so honored to do this. Thank you all for looking and Merry Christmas.

Thanks for your nice comments. Theheart with the two wires coming down and ending in little circles kind of symbolizes the closeness and love that they have for each other. It's nice watching the two, mom and daughter, interact.
Bejewelme, I have no idea how it escaped you, it must have been real sneaky though.

So beautiful - both of them!
How does the first one stay in there? - I like the "hand" that holds it - just that part draws your attention to the top of the cab

Thanks Michael. I love charoit also. Tweeiepy, I run my thumb and fingernails along the wire as I gently coax the wire to come just barely up and over the girdle of the cab but I think what really helps hold it in place is getting the beginning of the top bail bindings as close and tight to the top of the cab as possible. I forgot you like side and back views so here they are. back

Lori it just amazes me how you manage to wrap and keep the stones in. Some of your wraps, including one you sent me, looks like the stone should just fall out. That charoite is a beautiful cab and your wrap accents it so well. What a stunning piece.
Amber, that crazy lace was one of the first cabs I ever did and you must have seen it a dozen times. You can't have all of them you know. lol

Hey Amber and Tony, thought I would mention this, My friend who will be receiving that sweet cab originally hails from PA and she said I could come with her some weekend so that I can maybe finally meet you two. She said Tony's town isn't far from when she grew up.
Just something nice to consider for the upcoming summer.

Love those two. The gold touch to the first one is brilliant. It does exactly what you wanted it to do and doesn't distract at all!
And I love the two closed loops snugged up against the heart wire on the purple. Really adds to the overall look of the piece!

Your wraps are always very elegant looking! Both are excellent gifts but that Chariot takes my breath away! Fran

Thanks for your nice words Fran and Adrian.
Akansan, those loops kind of reminds me of the snuggling a mom and daughter would do.

Those are some beautiful wraps and I could not come up with the right word until I read that. Those stones are definitly "snuggled" in their wraps.

Superb cabs and wraps SitnWrap, Those stones look so "at home" nestled in their wraps, your designs are really flowing and elegant. Nice wire work on some slippery looking customers! I love lacey stones, and the shape and pattern on that first one is brilliant, I love the wrap too, you got a great design in there with the reflection in silver on the side. The Charoit is outstanding though, the swirls around the bail add a real dimension to the stone, and the colour contrast between the wire and the purple swirls is fab, really great job on both of them. Thanks for sharing your talents. Cheers, Sparkles.

Beautiful, Lori! I love the way you went spare with the side wires to keep the stone clear, but tucked around the binding wires as extra holding points. Clever girl I'm going to have to steal that idea, lol. Tony
