It's too cold to cab, but not too cold to slab! Here's one I cut tonight, and WOW! I was stunned!!! ;D This has to be one of the best Woods I've ever cut...and I can't wait to cut the other end. This is Prime example of what happens when Wood becomes completely replaced by Agate. If it wasn't for the outside, you'd think it was just an Agate. This one is from Wyoming, the Blue Eden area. Thanks for looking. Steve

Beautiful and interesting! I can already picture a pair of your trade mark Echostones made out of that limb Adrian

Very cool. Now technically speaking would that be considered pet wood or limb cast? I'm still trying to get a handle on that.

Wow Steve! That's one of the nicest specimens I've ever seen from that area. Don't often see a full agate replacement of a limb from that area and with great banding too. I bet you were pretty excited to cut that one all right!.....mel

Very nice piece of limb cast! I have some pink limb cast from Paulina, some of it looks somewhat like that.

Very Nice! Looking at the center, I never would have known it was wood. I learn something new all the time here! Fran

Wow, a lot of the Wyoming wood I've seen only had partial agatization like that. Tony, this piece is probably technically a limb cast. The outer skin for this material is petrified algae that surrounded the wood while it was petrifying (well, in this specific example, decaying to leave a void filled by agate). What a lot of the Blue Forest (or Blue Eden or Eden Valley) Wyoming wood is famous for is having petrified wood with blue-toned agate sourrounds and intrusions like what the earlier pieces Steve showed have.

Thanks you guys...and man mel...your comments blew me away. If you say it's one of the best that you've seen...that get's me very excited! I knew it was going to be a good one..but didn't knwo what to expect. It took a while for my saw to slice through it, and when I opened it..I was very Suprised. I was even more excited when I saw no stress fractures or cracks. I will get the other side sliced, and this one will probably remain as is. Most of the Blue Eden I've cut has just small areas of agatization as Dean stated. Steve

So once again no wood, limbcast! Man this whole pet wood thing is confusing. I guess the caddo from Curt will be real pet wood??? Regardless Steve, it is neat looking.

Beautiful. To non-rockhounds it would have just looked like a piece of ugly rock, but inside it's a whole other story.
