Howdy folks, Well ya know how some folks have a doggie to follow them around while they're collecting. Well these fellers ( taking a rest this morning) frequently meander along the creek with me while I'm out collecting. Was just out working with my Xmas camera this morning so I thought I just had to post a couple of pics of my favorite steersies. Thanks for looking....Mel Critters! Man, whenever you want them to pose for a pic, they decide it's nap time. My other buddie was a little more interested in the camera.

Too bad you aren't a professional Steer Wrestler! But...I think these two would give you more than you bargained for. Mr. Brownie is even saying "HI" to ya. I like seeing these pictures cuz it gives me hope for Spring weather just around the corner.... ..another 2 months!! ;D Steve

I love pics of animals. They actually follow you? I'm looking at those horns and wouldn't want them angry at me but the brown one does have a sweet look on his/her face.

sitnwrap: I guess follow is not really the term. Guess it should be like try to meander after me and mooch a free handout. I swear, we have like fifty cattle, twenty horses, and uncountable deer, turkeys and such and if they had their way, they'd hold ya down and beat you up till you come up with some treats *LOL*. Was going out fossil hunting the other day and had to get out and hand lead some of the horses off the road cause they mobbed my truck and wouldn't move the heck out of my way...Mel

Harley: Those are just pretty much the usual patterns for Texas Longhorns. Our neighbors raised them by our old Cally ranch and they looked pretty much the same except these are maybe a size larger. These seem a bit taller and longer than what I'm used to. These are quarterhorse tall at the withers....Mel

Wow, talk about longhorns! We don't grow 'em like that around New Hampshire...

Those guys are beautiful--I love the red one. I have no idea how old that breed is, or why they are important. But they sure are pretty to look at. I wonder where they stand on the scale of 'cow smarts'. I believe Holsteins are down around the bottom------

Of course they're bigger, Mel! Everything's big(ger) in Texas!
(I couldn't stop myself, I had to say it!)
